Watch: Jacob Miller performs "Tricks" (Previously Unreleased)

Portland, Oregon's Jacob Miller is one of those young musicians who makes us hopefully for the next generation of guitar slingers. Over the last couple of years, we've seen him play a variety of styles on a variety of gear - from Jazzmasters to resos to the 1940s Epiphone Spartan on this video - and he seems to just become one with the instrument on-hand, making music that is both exciting and a little retro.

Come to think of it: I suppose that's how we felt about Blake Mills when we first him eight years ago, too. And a LOT has happened to Mills over that period. Time will tell if Miller follows suit...

Miller has his first album out this month, 'This New Home.' We had him come by the FJ to talk about it (he'll be a guest on our podcast) and perform a few tunes for our cameras. One of the songs was this one, "Tricks." Though it was finished after the recording of the album, it's a perfect representation of what Miller does best. Catchy, heartfelt and a little gritty.

We hope you like it and be sure to check out Miller's full-length. We can't recommend it enough.
